Father ‘killed’ over son’s ludo playing in Cox’s Bazar

A day labuorer was allegedly stabbed to death over playing ‘ludu’ in Pekua, Cox’s Bazar. At the time, two more persons were injured.
The incident took place at Bazarpara area of Magnama Union of the upazila around 10:30 pm on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Malek (55), son of one late Sayeed Ahmed of the village.
Locals said that around 9 PM on Sunday, Abdul Malek’s son Mohammad Hosain had an argument with Nurul Amin’s son Ujjlur Rahman Naibu of the local market. Abdul Malek and Nurul Amin, the fathers of the two youths, came to the spot after receiving the news.
At that time, there was an exchange of heated words between them. At one point Nurul Amin suddenly stabbed Abdul Malek. He fell down. At that time, Abdul Malek’s son Parvez Hossain (25) and a local, Bulu Akhtar (40), were also injured.
Injured Malek was rushed to Pekua Upazila Health Complex when the duty doctor declared him dead.
Abdul Malek’s son Mohammad Hoshain said, Nurul Amin stabbed my father to death. I want justice for the murder of my father.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pekua police station Farhad Ali said, “The body has been sent to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
Efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the murder.
