Fake currency note factory busted in city: Nine held

Nine persons were arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Police on Thursday from West Jurain area under Shyampur Police Station in the capital on charge of making forged local and foreign currency notes in a raid led by Deputy Commissioner, Gulshan Mahbub Alam early Thursday.
The DB said the drive was conducted at a residence at Shahadat` Hossain Road at West Jurain. During the drive, police seized forged Indian rupees of 20 lakh and Bangladesh taka of 32 lakh.
Besides, currency making equipment were seized from the residence. The equipment included mobile phone sets, forged note making special papers, security threads, chemicals, laptop, printer, lamination machine, cutters, different types of dice, and other ingredients for making forged notes.
Police said the mastermind of forged note making factory Zakir Hossain was arrested. There are five more cases pending against him.
Moreover, Jahangir Alam, Badal Khan, Malek Farazi, Jasim Uddin and Shihab were arrested during the raid.
