Deputy-superintendent in charge of government orphanage for boys at Amtola area in the city has been removed from his post on Thursday.
The action was taken in connection of recovering hanging body of an orphan boy from the room of the boy on February 6.
Mosharraf Hossain, Deputy Director of Social Services Directorate at Barisal, acknowledging the facts said Hemayet Uddin, Deputy-superintendent in charge of Shishu Poribar (balok), has been removed from his post.
Hemayet Uddin ordered to join at district office on Thursday and Sajjad Parvej, probation-officer of the directorate asked to perform duty as acting in charge of the orphanage (boys) instead of Hemayet.
Earlier a five member probe committee of district administration headed by Zakir Hossain, additional district magistrate of Barisal was formed in this connection on February 7.
Department of social services also formed another inquiry committee headed by Zulfikar Haidar, Director of the Department, to find out the facts on the same day.
Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, deputy commissioner Barisal, said the two probe committees formed in this connection still working and will submit their report soon.
The authority also decided to install close circuit cameras in both boys and girls orphanage premises for surveillances of over all activities, he added.
Sakhawat Hossain, Kotwali police station officer in charge, said the case of unnatural death was filed in this regard by Abul Kalam Azad, ward master of Barisal Sher- Ee- Bangla Medical College Hospital on February 7 and police investigating the case.
Hanging body of Mashiur Rahman Yusuf, 13, an orphan boy recovered from his room (no.9) of Shishu Poribar (balok) on February 6, after returning from playground.
Yusuf was declared as dead by attending SBMCH physician of emergency department after his body brought to the hospital by orphanage officials.
DD of social services department said seven months old Yusuf was sheltered at government baby home in Agoiljhara after recovered from a roadside dustbin at Chandmari area of the city in 2004.
Yusuf sent to Barisal government orphanage in 2012 from Agoiljhara.
