Extremism still a real problem in BD: CTTC

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) , a unit of DMP including District Police arranged a week-long seminar, discussion, awareness and documentary film against militancy, terrorism and extremism at local art council hall in Kishoreganj on Wednesday .
CTTC Chief and Additional Commissioner of DMP Md. Monirul Islam BPM (Bar) PPM (Bar) was present as Chief Guest at a seminar on Extremism, militancy: Media men and Civil Society activities held at local Circuit House Conference Room on Wednesday afternoon while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowhdury in the chair.
Police Super (SP) Md. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) and Proloy Kumar Zoheder, SP, Narsingdhi attended as special guests.
It was addressed among others by District Awami League Secretary & P.P Adv M.A Afzol, Poura Mayor Mahamud Pervez, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Prof (Retd) Pranesh Chowdhury, Sanak Convnor Saiful Haqu Mollah Dulu, Additional SP (Promoted SP) Nazmul Islam, CTTC A.D.C Md. Zahangir Hasan, Senor Advocate Dholon Bhomik, Women Leader Bilkis Begum, CAB Executive President Adv Maya Bhowmic, Journalist Sakauddin Ahamed Rajon and Journalist Saifuddin Ahamed Lelin.
CTTC Chief Monirul Islam has said, extremism is a real problem in Bangladesh. After the Holey Artisan and Sholakia attacks extremist activities have been a decline due to a clamp down on militant activities.
As there were no major attacks or incident of violence, everyone thought extremism and terrorism have been rooted out.
