 Excellent T-Aman paddy farming is predicting bumper production of the crops across Dupchanchia Upazila of Bogra district in this season.
For getting satisfactory yield, the enthusiastic farmers have engaged their full efforts in transplanted Aman farming amid favourable climate and sufficient rainfall.
According to Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) , the farmers cultivated T-Aman paddy on around 35 thousand hectares of land out of target 34 thousand hectares in this district during the current season. The prevailing weather remains favourable and helps the farmers’ achieving target production, DAE added.
Most of the farming fields now wore an eye-catching look. In some areas, harvesting of the short-duration varieties especially Brridhan-48 and zinc-enriched Brridhan-62 was started creating job opportunities for many unemployed people. The concerned government departments including the DAE provided all necessary assistances to the farmers to make the programme a grand success across the district.
Farmers Shahidul Islam, 24, at Mearai village of upazila said, that he is not facing any problem in plantation of T-Aman seedlings as the frequent seasonal rainfall was helping him a lot. He expected that farmers would get bumper production this time as authority concern has taken measure step to assistance the farmers round the clock by monitoring the field level crops, he added.
DAE official said, the department has supplied high quality seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agriculture inputs among the farmers. Besides, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and other commercial banks, local NGOs in the region were distributing short-term loan to farmers of the district for cultivation of T-Aman paddy, DAE said.
