The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against two people including former Rangpur Medical College Principal for his alleged involvement in corruption.
ACC filed the case on Tuesday accusing that RMC former principle Dr Md Abdur Rouf has allegedly embezzled Tk 1.74 crore.
The anti-graft body filed the case with its integrated district office in Rangpur against Dr Abdur Rouf and Three Eye Merchandise proprietor Md Moksedul Islam, said ACC spokesperson M Arif Sadiq. According to the case statement, the accused in collusion with each other purchased five dental chairs the Rangpur Medical College during the purchase in 2012-13 fiscal year violating rules and regulations.
“They also violated the Public Procurement Rules 2008 and embezzled Tk 1, 74, 96,500 through the anomalies in the procurement,” said Arif Sadiq.
