Former National University (NU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Aminul Islam passed away at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday.
He breathed his last at Ibne Sina Hospital Dhanmandi around 5:15pm, said a NU press release.
NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Harun-or-Rashid expressed death shock at his death.
Professor Aminul Islam served as the vice-chancellor of Bangladesh National University during 1996-2000.
