A retired army member named Mohammad Shafiqul Islam (50) was electrocuted at Gafargaon in Mymensingh. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, son of late Mohammad Israfil of Charkatihari village under Hossainpur upazila.
The incident took place on Monday morning at 2nd lane of Shibganj Road in Sholhasia village of the municipal town. According to local and family sources, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam was hit by a nail on the wall of the kitchen and came in contact with an electric wire. He was electrocuted and seriously injured. The locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex. Shafiqul declared Islam dead.
