Dr Afsar Hossain, a former Awami League MP from Gazipur-5 constituency died of kidney ailment and pneumonia at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. He was 63.
He is survived by his wife, three sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held after Jum’a prayers at Chwakbazar mosque premises in the city on Friday.
His second Namaz-e-Janaza was held at R M Vidyapith premises at Kaliganj after Asr prayers.
He was buried at his family graveyard at Jamalpur.
