Eviction drive against illegal possessions over drains, canals, khas land and city corporation owned lands will be launched in the port city from September o1 next . This drive will be enforced simultaneously in 41 city wards.
City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin announced this decision of eviction drive at the 13th general meeting of the CCC on Saturday held at its auditorium . He said survey over the illegal possession will be launched immediately . He further said all 55 ward offices will be decorated with similar colour and design and one community centre will be constructed in each ward .
City Mayor directed the concerned department to repair the damaged road due to waterlogging and r ain immediately .The meeting also discussed the cleanliness of the wastes of sacrificial animal during Eidul Azha and asked the councilors to aware the people to slaughter the sacrificial animal in the specific place of the city corporation.
The meeting also decided to door to door waste removal programs from next month from ward areas. Among others, general councilor, female reserved councilors , Acting Chief executive officer and departmental heads of CCC were present in it duly presided by the Mayor, sources said.
