UNB, Dhaka :
Voicing deep concern over the prevailing law and order situation, Jatiya Party Chairman (JaPa) HM Ershad on Monday demanded the government ensure safety and security of people, including foreign nationals.
“The killing of two foreign nationals within a span of one week proves that the government has failed to maintain the law-and-order situation which resulted in these killings,” he said demanding immediate steps to improve the situation.
Ershad, also a Special Envoy to the
Prime Minister, came up with the remarks at a press conference at his Banani office in the city. Observing that it is the constitutional duty of a government to ensure the security of people, he alleged that this government has failed to do so as people fear to come out of house as they do not have any safety of their lives. Alleging that the rule of law is totally absent in the country, Ershad said this type of democracy is tarnishing our image abroad.
