ERF institute to work for increasing skill of business journalism

Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) has taken a move to set up an institute for improving the standard of economic and business journalism by giving training to economic reporters.
ERF has already taken a step to purchase space in Paltan Tower in the capital for establishing its own office and the proposed institute, said a press release.
ERF and real estate organization Abed Holdings signed an agreement on purchasing the space.
ERF president Saiful Islam Dilal and managing director of Abed Holdings Abu Khalid Md Barkat Ullah signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
ERF founding convener Shahiduzzaman, founding general secretary Shamsul Haq Zahid, former presidents Manwar Hossain and Zakaria Kazal, former general secretary Nurul Hasan Khan, ERF’s present secretary Ziaur Rahman, managing editor of the Daily Sangbad Quashem Humayun, business editor of channel 71 Kazi Azizul Islam Makhon, among others, spoke on the occasion.
ERF’s assistant secretary Rizvi Newaz, finance secretary SM Rashidul Islam, executive committee member Syed Shahnewaz Karim and Mohammad Azizur Rahman were present.
ERF president Saiful Islam Dilal said setting up of an office for ERF was a long cherished dream of all ERF members. The present ERF committee also had a pledge for setting up the office, he said, adding that it is now going to be materialized with cooperation of all.
