Speakers here on Monday stressed the need for enhancing productivity in the industrial, agriculture, service and all other sectors for attaining sustainable national development in the process of building a developed nation.
Khulna district administration organised a post-rally discussion programme in observance of the National Productivity Day-2017 with the theme of “Productivity for Sustainable Development and Growth” at conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) in the city.
The district administration with assistance of different government departments and institutions organised the rally followed by the discussion to observe the day with a view to turn the productivity enhancing campaign into a national movement.
Hundreds of government and non-government officials, chamber leaders, industrialists, private sector entrepreneurs, students, teachers, civil society members, journalists and local elites participated in the rally.
Khulna divisional commissioner Lokman Hossain Mia addressed the discussion as chief guest while deputy commissioner Amin-ul-Ahsan in the chair.
Additional chief engineer of P & W Division G M M Kamal Pasha, Regional director of BISIC Md Shahnewaz, ADC(General)Md Zahangir Hossain, President of Khulna Chapter of Bangladesh Institute of PANERS Pravash Chandra Kundu, addessed as special guests.
Assistant professor of KUET Tusher Kanti Roy screened a power point presentation on the issue. Superintendent Engineer of Khulna zone P&W division Kazi Wasek Ahmed delivered the welcome speech.
