Emergency medicines sent to Bhutan

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent two consignments of emergency medicines for safety of senior citizens of Bhutan to prevent them from COVID-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister sent these medicines on Thursday from her Relief and Welfare Fund at the request of the Bhutanese King as a gesture of historic excellent relations with Bhutan, the first country which extended recognition to Bangladesh after its independence in 1971, a foreign ministry press release said here.
The medicines include 10 lakh units of Multi-Vitamin Bextram Gold manufactured by BEXIMCO Pharma and 5 lakh units of Vitamin C Ceevit manufactured by Square Pharma.
The first consignment already left Dhaka by road and reached Burimari Border Port in Lalmonirhat for onward transportation to Bhutanese capital Thimphu.
The second consignment is likely to reach the border port by today (Sunday).
Earlier, Bangladesh had sent emergency medical equipment to Bhutan, including hand sanitizers.
