Although the shopping spree in Sylhet markets has not started yet, the number of shoppers and buyers are increasing after Iftar. The market authorities are also keeping the shops open till midnight due to the increase in the number of buyers in the market. Traders say that the market usually starts trading in full swing after the 15th of Ramzan but many buyers start shopping in the first week of Ramzan restrictions due to Covid-19 has decreased, traders and sellers hope the number of customers will increase in the coming days.

Buyers are likely to call everyone who looks appropriate, even if there are only a few. They are buying their favorite clothes at bargain prices and making their way home.

Sweety, a housewife who came to Modhubon Super Market in Bondor Bazar, said, “I have come to get clothes for the baby. The market will be crowded in the coming days, so I have come to shop a little earlier.”
Siraj Uddin, Secretary of Sylhet Millennium Market Association said that the market has seen a surge in buyers. It is a joy for them. Because traders have not been able to do business for the last two years due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. Traders have invested with high hopes this Eid. As of now, Hawkers Market in the district is full of buyers of all kinds. However, middle class and lower class buyers come more in the market, he said.
A shopkeeper at Shukria Market Kamal Ahmed said that the market has been seeing a lot of buyers especially since Iftar. So far they are satisfied with the sales situation. Hopefully this time, they will be able to make up for the loss of the last two years.
Abdur Rahman Ripon, President of Sylhet City Babosaye Oikko Kollan Parishad, said the market was slowly starting to freeze. They hope the sale will start in full swing after the 15th of Ramzan.
