DUJA celebrates 37th anniversary

Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA), one of the oldest organisations of campus journalists countrywide, observed its 37th founding anniversary with befitting manner on Monday.
DU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzam started the celebration program by cutting a cake at the games room of University’s Teachers Students Centre (TSC).
Expressing best wishes to the organization, DU Vice-Chancellor said, “The impact of journalists is very significant as their works affect at the policy making stages of every organization that is why journalists have to be careful and truth in their activities.”
“Some tiny mismanagement can be settled by providing information to the proper authority without publishing any news as some local news create sensation when those information are being spread widely and general people interpreted the news in a wrong way for not being able to understand the actual contexts,” VC added.
The whole celebration program was conducted by DUJA general secretary Sirajul Islam Rubel while DUJA President MamunTushar was delivered his speech.
Besides, a friendly football match was held between Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA) and DUJA at the central field of University of Dhaka.
Members and executive body of DUJA , director and staff of TSC were present during the celebration of 37th anniversary of the organization and a rally was formed on this occasion.
On this day of 1985, the organization started its journey along with only 13 members of different newspapers and toady the organization stepped into its 38th year.
