DU, KETI sign MoU

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University (DU) and Korea Electronic Technology Institute (KETI) was signed on Wednesday aimed at promoting education and research on renewable energy at DU. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique and President of KETI Kim Kyung Won signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at a simple ceremony at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.
Treasurer of DU Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin, Ambassador of Korea in Bangladesh Lee Yun Young, Director of KETI Kang Byoung Mo, Director of the Institute of Energy (IE) of DU Prof Dr Sekul Islam and Professor of IE Dr Saiful Haque were present on the occasion.
According to the MoU, Dhaka University and the KETI will jointly organize seminars, conferences, workshops and training programs on renewable energy at DU. Korea Electronic Technology Institute (KETI) will also provide financial assistance and technical support to Dhaka University to promote education and research in this regard.
Earlier, the certificate giving ceremony on “PV Test Bed Training Programme” jointly organized by the Institute of Energy of DU and Korea Electronic Technology Institute (KETI) was held today (Wednesday) at the same venue. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the certificates among the participants as chief guest.
Prof Arefin Siddique thanked the KETI authorities for signing the MoU and highly expressed that students, teachers and researchers of Dhaka University would be benefited by this MoU. He hoped that the bi-lateral relationship in various sectors including education and research between the Bangladesh and the Korea would be strengthened in the days to come.
