A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound on Saturday night.
The injured, Meshkat Hossain, is the deputy training secretary of BCL’s central committee. He is a residential student of Masterda Surja Sen Hall.
Witnesses said Meshkat and his friends were sitting in front of the hall on Saturday night when suddenly an explosion was heard.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors removed a bullet from his right leg. There is an allegation that he carries firearms

on the campus. Meshkat told UNB he “suddenly noticed” that he was bleeding after returning to his hall but “did not understand” how he had been injured.
