Tk 2384.80 crore DNCC budget

Dhaka North City Corporation on Wednesday announced budget for Tk 2384.80 crore for fiscal year 2017-18.
The DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq announced the budget at the Nagar Bhaban in the day.
The city corporation will provide Tk977.65 crore from its own sources.
The budget for the fiscal year 2016-17 was Tk 2083.35 crore.
A total Tk 2168.80 crore supposed to income in this FY’s budget. While, Tk 2264.95 is supposed for expenditure.
 “The money will be spent on infrastructure development, waste management, mosquito control, beautification and other purposes,” Mayor said.
He also said that money will be used for maintenance and development of roads, drains, footpaths, hospitals, markets, bus terminals, public toilets and libraries.
 “Further the budget allocations include city corporation’s environmental development, construction and repair of employees
housing, community centers, and housing facilities for cleaners,” he said.
 “We hope that the city corporation will be able to secure its income properly like the previous years” the Mayor said.
 “We expect to earn taxes and revenues from holding tax, trade licence, advertisement, rickshaw licence, markets and community centers,” he said. Annisul Huq claimed that the DNCC was advancing significantly towards its target.
He also pointed about his success of freeing occupied pavements and roads. Dhaka lost its 26 canals to the influential persons. It is totally difficult to recover some of those, he said.
The Mayor said sorry for failure in mosquitoes killing programee, saying the city corporation cannot destroy all the mosquitoes breeding points.
 “There is a cantonment in the middle of the city. We cannot go there whenever we want to spray medicine to kill mosquitoes,” he said.
