Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Friday filed 4,271 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation. It also realized Taka 19.84 lakh as fine for traffic rule violation, said an official release.
Of the total, 764 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 80 for using hydraulic horn, eight for using hotter and beckon light and 18 others for using tinted glass.
Police filed 1,753 cases against motorcycles and seized 56 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Traffic police has dumped 24 vehicles and wrecked 497 others.
