Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Tuesday filed 3,551 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation. It also realized over Taka 30.67 lakh as fine for traffic rule violation, said an official press release.
Of the total cases, 273 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 63 for using hydraulic horn, three for using hotter and beckon light and 12 others for using tinted glass.
Police filed 1,086 cases against motorcycles and seized 79 others for violation of the traffic rules.
Traffic police has dumped 17 vehicles and wrecked 869 others.
