Discussion on Food Security today

A day-long discussion titled ‘Addressing Gender Inequality in Food Security Programming’ will be held at Hotel Amari, Gulshan-2, in the city today.
The national learning event is going to be organised jointly by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and the World Vision Bangladesh to disseminate the outcomes of a USAID-funded project Nobo Jatra, said a press release.
Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram, will speak at the discussion as the chief guest while Disaster Management and Relief secretary Md Shah Kamal as the special guest.
Senior programme development specialist of USAID – Bangladesh Mahmuda Rahman Khan, gender and social inclusion specialist of World Vision International Krista Bywater and director of USAID’s Office of Food, Disaster and Humanitarian Assistance Paul Mason will speak at the meeting as discussants.
Dr Sanzida Akhter, an associate professor of the Department of Women and Gender Studies at Dhaka University, will make a presentation on gender inequality and food security at the event.
