An elderly man with physical disabilities drowned in a pond at Kanainagar village under Mohammadpur Police Station on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Akhil Biswas, 40, son of Ananto Biswas, a resident of the village.
Family sources said Akhil slipped into the pond beside his house when he went there to have a bath in the afternoon.
