Dhaka International University (DhIU) begins external peer review on programme self assessment on Tuesday at it’s Banani, Green Road and Satarkul campuses.
In this phase, Department of Law, English and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) will go under the process.
Prof Dr Bholanath Dutta, Founder and President, MTC Global, India is acting as foreign peer reviewer while Prof Dr Razzab Ali and QMH Supan are acting as Quality Assurance (QA) and subject expert respectively for external peer review activity of department of law at banani campus.
Prof Dr Harshita Aini Haroon, Director, Centre for International Language, University Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia is the foreign peer reviewer of English Department.
Dr Ashraful Islam Khan and Prof Dr Zafor Ali are also acted as QA expert and subject expert of this self assessment at permanent campus of DIU situated at Satarkul, Badda.
Department of CSE is also arranging the same activity at green road campus where Prof Dr Andrew Philip Sodden, Dean, Quality Assurance and Partnerships, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Malaysia is acted as foreign peer reviewer and Prof Dr Ain-ul Huda and Prof Dr Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu are acting as QA expert and subject expert respectively.
Dr Serajul Islam Prodhan, QA expert and Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Asst. Prof RaisuL Islam Sourav, QA specialist and Additional Director, IQAC are coordinating the external peer review self assessment of these three entity at DIU.
This is a three-day long activity, which will be ended on 2 June.
At this time external peer review team will assess the overall quality of education at DIU. The will visit different campuses, physical facilities, lab, library, cafeteria, interview students and alumni, observe classroom, research activities etc.
IQAC has been established at Dhaka International University under the auspices of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) financed by the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh and the World Bank and implemented by the Quality Assurance Unit of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.
The external peer review programme is the continuation of this process. DIU is the first ever university among the second phase universities which do this activity firstly.
