Ashraful scored a magnificent ton as Dhaka Metro scored 257 for 5 against Chittagong Division on the first day of first round four-day 19th National Cricket League (NCL) held on Friday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Ashraful scored 104 off 194 balls with 12 fours and two sixes while Mehrab Hossain Jr supported with a well played unbeaten 65 runs, after they opted to bat first.
Earlier, Dhaka Metro faced initial batting jolt losing four wickets only 74 runs, but a responsible 174 runs fifth wicket stand between Ashraful and Mehrab helped Metropolis to come out from initial damage.
Sharif Ullah was the other night watch batsman with 6 on the crease at the stumps were drawn for the day.
Mehedi Hasan Rana and Shakhawat Hossain shared two wickets each for Chittagong conceding 47 and 56 runs respectively.
