Youth Games: Dhaka clinch gold in Girls’ Division of Football

Dhaka Division clinched gold medal in the Girls’ Division of the Football Competition of the Bangladesh Youth Games defeating Mymensingh Division by 3-1 goals in the final at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Wednesday. Mymensingh Division earned silver medal in the meet.
The first half was locked 1-1.
Mymensingh Division conceded a suicidal by their player Moina (1-0) in the 16th minute of the play.
Marufa of Mymensingh equalized the margin (1-1) using a counter attack after three minutes.
Ratna of Dhaka Division made it 2-1 in the 86th minute of the play.
Shahida of Dhaka Division increased the tally into 3-1 in the 88th minute of the match.
After the final match, Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Tabith Awal, Member of BFF Md Iqbal Hossain, Member of BFF Zakir Hossain Chowdhury and Member of Bangladesh Olympic Association Mahmud Jamal distributed the medals to the winners and the losers.
In the day’s boy’s section final held at the same venue, Rajshahi division defeated Sylhet division by 4-1 goals.
Pias scored a brace while Mohammad Akash and Mohammad Sajib netted one goal each to help Rajshahi clinch the gold medal. Striker Ajash scored the lone goal for Sylhet.
