On July 3 in 2008, the ACC filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case with Ramna Police Station accusing Khaleda Zia, her son Tarique Rahman, and six others. On August 5 in 2009, the ACC filed charge sheet against eight people including Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
On the other hand, the ACC Assistant Director Harunur Rashid filed Zia Charitable Trust graft case against four people, including Khaleda Zia on August 8 in 2011.
The present court on September 22 opened the trial in both cases against Khaleda Zia and others on charges of raising fund illegally for two charities and embezzling the amount.
