Four more persons, including a teen aged boy, died of dengue in four districts in last 24 hours since Monday evening.  
During the period, a total of 1,299 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals and clinics across the country.
Of them, 608 patients were sent to some hospitals in Dhaka, while 691 in district hospitals, showed a data of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
So far 66,064 dengue patients were hospitalized since January 1 to August 27 this year. Of them, 60,569 left hospitals after treatment.
It also reported that 52 dengue patients died across the country from January 1 till August 27.
With this, the total number of the death toll now rose to 56, but the unofficial data says that it is more than 118.
In Dhaka, a teen aged boy from Gazipur died of dengue at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 7:00am on Tuesday.
The deceased, Md Jisan, 15, was a ninth grade student of a local school in Gazipur.
Md Zakir Hossain, brother-in-law of the deceased, said, “Jisan was suffering from fever for the past one week and was taken to Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.”
He was diagnosed with dengue and referred to DMCH the following day, where he took his last breath, Zakir said.
Doctors handed over Jisan’s body to his family, confirmed DMCH police outpost Inspector Md Bachu Mia.
A man died of dengue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Meanwhile, one Mahtab Uddin, 24, died early Tuesday said, RMCH spokesperson and Assistant Professor of Medicine Department Dr Asaduzzaman.
He said that Mahtab was admitted to M Abdur Rahim Medical College, Dinajpur (MARMC), after being diagnosed with dengue on August 18.
Later, he was shifted to RMCH and kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as his condition deteriorated.
Mahtab was then taken to the dengue ward in the hospital when his condition improved a little.
However, his health worsened again late at night and he eventually died.
In Jhenaidah, a woman died of dengue from Kaligaong upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased, Sufiya Begum, 55, housewife, was a resident of Babuniya village in the upazila.
Director of the Hospital Dr Hossein Safayet said that Sufiya Begum was admitted to the hospital with fever on Monday, after being dignosed with dengue and she died on Tuesday morning.
Besides, another housewife died of dengue in Gopalganj Medical College and Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Mahmuda Begum, from Kalardoani village in Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur district, family sources said.
