Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said the statement of top global terrorist group al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri showed that a deep conspiracy is going on against Bangladesh. “In his statement, Zawahiri took side of the quarter that burnt Holy Quran,” he said this on Monday while speaking at a discussion meeting organized by Bangabandhu Academy at Bir Uttam Khaza Nizam Uddin Auditorium at Segunbagicha here.
He said BNP leaders used to say that Bangladesh is a huge prison. Interestingly Zawahiri said the same thing in his statement that proves that BNP, Jamaat and al-Qaeda are tied with the same string, he said. Claiming the statement of Zawahiri to be an echo of Khaleda Zia’s statement, Mahmud said the speech of Khaleda Zia centering trial of war criminals is similar to Zawahiri’s statement.
Many top leaders of BNP led 19-party alliance are trained by al-Qaeda, he said. Mahmud said Islam was not established in Bangladesh as how Zawahiri wants to establish Islam.
