Members of Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) under Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested eight persons along with 92 mobile phone sets (IMEI changed) from the city and district on early Monday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Md Nur Nabi, 40, Md Ali Hossain, 30, Ajit Chakrabarty alias Tuku, 43, Md Tarek Hossain, 24, Md Saber Ahmed, 26, Md Mizanur Rahman, 21, Ariful Islam alias Shawon, 18, and Md Maeen Uddin, 18.
Md Akramul Hossain Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-Public Relations) of CMP said acting on a tip off, a team of the CTU led by its ADC AAM Humayun Kabir and ADC Palash Kanti Nath of police conducted special night long drives in the city’s CRB Satt Rastar Morr, Reazuddin Bazar and in different areas of Fatikhchhari upazila in the district on entire Sunday.
