Ctg Port revenue income increases despite pol stalemate

Despite yearlong political unrest in the country, the economy faces deadlock but the income of Chittagong Port increases to some extent. In comparison with last year(2012) , the revenue income increases by Tk.28 cr 11` lakh in immediate past year(2013), a port sources said. Sources said Ctg port earned revenue Tk.1562 cr in 2012 but in 2013 increases to Tk.1590 cr 11 lakh .
Despite the total political unrest, Ctg port has achieved positive success in revenue income which is good sign for the organisastions, sources added. Port Secretary Syed Farhaduddin told this correspondent that port faces obstructions in delivery of consignments from the port due to hartal, blockade programs but with the sincere dedication of the officials and workers of the authority, CPA achieved successful results in revenue income. Port sources said CPA earned revenue Tk.1627 cr in 2011 against total expenditures of Tk.624 cr 84 lakh, in 2012 earned revenue Tk.1562 cr against total expenses of Tk.817cr 65 lakh and in 2013 revenue earned Tk.1590 cr 11 lakh against total expenses of Tk.725 cr 65 lakh.
