Dr. Muhammad Rashed Al Mamun, Professor, Department of Farm Power and Machinery has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology in Sylhet Agricultural University.
He joined as 4th Dean of this faculty on Tuesday. Dr. Rashed successfully completed B.Sc in Agricultural Engineering, MS in Farm Power and Machinery from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He received his PhD in advanced technology (Renewable Energy) from Kumamoto University, Japan and also worked as Research Scientist in Groundwater Leadership Program (GelK) at the same university.
Dr. Rashed have published 40 scientific research articles in reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals and written a book on renewable energy.
He has achieved Kumamoto University President (Japan) Award, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Morocco) award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World, Venus International Research (India) Award for Outstanding Scientist in Farm Power and Machinery and Sylhet Agricultural University Best Publication (Bangladesh) Award.
He was born in an aristocratic Muslim family in Kaliganjupazila of Gazipur district.
He is the father of two daughters. He is also involved in various socio-cultural organizations.
