Judge Abdullah Al Mamun, in-charge of Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Wednesday once again deferred the cross-examination of Dipak Kumar Das, the Investigation Officer of the case to November 29.
Earlier, November 22 was fixed for cross-examination of the investigation officer. But, as he was not present in the court, the
court fixed the new date for cross-examination. Meanwhile, accused Bakhtiar Alam Rony, son of ruling Awami League MP Pinu Khan was produced before the court on the occasion.
On June 1, 2015, law enforcers arrested Rony from his Dhanmondi residence of the city in connection with firing. The accused allegedly fired shots indiscriminately from his car in the capital’s New Eskaton late at night on April 13, 2015, critically injuring a rickshaw-puller and an auto-rickshaw driver. Later, rickshaw-puller Abdul Hakim succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 15 of the same year, while auto-rickshaw driver Yakub Ali died at the same hospital on April 23.
