Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury on Monday said the country is now nearly self-sufficient in cereal crops like rice, wheat and maize production.
“The country has witnessed tremendous success in agriculture production after the present government coming to power…production of all types of crops including the cereal food crops has been increased,” said the minister.
The minister said this while replying to a query made by treasury bench lawmaker M Mamunur Rashid Kiron of Noakhali-3in the House here.
