Murder case: CID asked to probe against 10 people including AC (DB)

Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court on Sunday directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate against 10 people including assistant police commissioner Detective Branch (West) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in a murder case.Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Ali Masud Sheikh passed the order on Sunday.The case was filed by victim Tarek’s father, Abu Jafar Shikdar on September 25 accusing the Detective Branch (DB) officials for murder.The accused persons are: DB assistant police commissioner (APC) Mahbubur Rahman, DB police inspector Nibaran Chandra Barmam, sub-inspector Shahin, assistant sub-inspector Aktaruzzaman, constable Asadul Haque, constable Mamtaz Uddin, constable Khairul Islam, Khairul Alam Tutul, his wife Salma Begum Poly and Abdul Ahad Sohrab.  Earlier on September 14, Tarek was killed in a gunfight with DB in Mugda Para Green Model Town area of the city.The DB officers claimed that Tarek was an arms trader and they allegedly recovered a pistol and two rounds of bullets from his possession.
