Coop deal between BUFT, China Wuhan Textile University

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) has signed an agreement of cooperation on academic issues with Wuhan Textile University, China at Prime Minister’s Office in the city recently.
Muzaffar U Siddique, Founder of BUFT and Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Prof WEI Yiliang, President of Wuhan Textile University signed the agreement on behalf of their respective universities. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chinese Vice Premier LIU Yandong were present on the occasion.
In the agreement ceremony Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Education; Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University; M Nazrul Islam, Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present.
Among others, members of Board of Trustees of BUFT, Abdus Salam Murhedy, Sr. Vice President of Bangladesh Football Federation, Former President of BGMEA; Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), Ex-President of BGMEA; Siddiqur Rahman, Ex-Vice President of BGMEA and Md. Atiqul Islam, President of BGMEA were also present in the signing ceremony. High official from China Embassy, delegates of Wuhan Textile University and other dignitaries from different ministries were present.
Under the agreement, both universities will jointly work to provide a standard international education in the field of apparel, fashion and textile. Both the universities agreed to transfer credit, exchange students, faculty members and researchers and provide the students with scholarships. They will also work together in curriculum design and development and hold joint exhibition and fashion design competition.
