Condolence meeting on Japanese former PM Abe held at DU

A mourning session was held to condole the death of the Japanese former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Dhaka University (DU) organised by Dhaka University Japanese Studies Department and Japanese Embassy in Bangladesh.
It was held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university chaired by DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Thursday.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was present as the chief guest in the mourning meeting while Japanese Ambassador ITO Naoki was present as a special guest.
“Shinzo Abe was an ungracious friend of Bangladesh truly. The people of Bangladesh are shocked when they heard that the leader was killed by an assailant,” Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said.
“The relationship between the two countries reached in a new dimension through his multiple meetings with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added.
