The Board of Directors of City Bank elected its Director Aziz Al Kaiser as the Chairman and Hossain Khaled as the Vice-Chairman of the Bank on Wednesday. Aziz Al Kaiser is a Sponsor Director of the Bank. He was its Vice-Chairman for five years and later in 2007, he was elected as Chairman of the bank and served in that position till 2011.
As Chairman, he led the bank’s transformation from a traditional institution to a technology and growth driven one. He played key roleinintroducing American Express cards in Bangladesh market and opening brokerage and merchant bank subsidiaries of the bank. He is also credited with launching Citygem, the Priority Banking arm of City bank and the first International Airport Lounge in private sector for bank’s card members. He also led the Bank’s brand identity changeover project in 2008.
Hossain Khaled is also a Sponsor Director of City Bank. He is an Executive Committee member of the bank’s Board and Convener of itsRisk Management Committee. Khaled is a versatile new-age business personality who is the Managing Director of Anwar Group and is successfully leading diversified business portfolios including financial services, technology, manufacturing, automobile, real estate etc.
He is the Chairman of City Brokerage Ltd. and former Chairman ofBangladesh Finance and Investment Co. Ltd.He is also the Vice Chairman of BD Finance Capital Holdings Ltd. and Director of BD Finance Securities Ltd. Khaledis the immediate pastPresident and currently Director of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and former President of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Bangladesh.
