Children’s cold related diseases on rise

Cold related diseases are increased among children due to changing weather in the capital.
Worried parents are found rushing to nearby hospitals and clinics with their children most of them are suffering from fever, coughing, asthma and likewise diseases.
Sabeet Abdullah, a one-year-old kid of Fatima and Abdullah couple of Banglabazar, Dhaka are one of them.
The couple was found waiting in outdoor in National Medical Institute Hospital in old Dhaka to visit doctor on Monday.
Fatima said that her baby Sabeet are suffering from cold related fever and other sickness for several days.
“Firstly, we have not gave heed on his getting sickness. But he failed to be cure for days. Then we have taken some medicines from a nearby pharmacy. But his coughing and fever have not gotten cured. Finally, we are here to visit hospital doctor,” she said.
Some other, parents also found in the hospital in and out door with their infantsmost of them were suffering from cold fever, coughing, asthma, pneumonia and such other sickness.
Similarly, the numbers of children patients also found in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
In DMC Hospital, Rabeya Akter of Siddikbazar, has brought her four month aged baby Laila infected with cold fever. She and her husband Sadik were worried about the baby’s suffering from difficulties of breath taking.
The parents were doubted that the baby might be infected by pneumonia.
They also firstly visited a nearby homeopathic physician, but the baby failed to get healed.
Numbers of children were found in hospitals pediatric out doors across the capital with similar illness.
Most of the children were fell sick due to changing trend of the weather.
The weather has turned toward cold for few weeks.
Though the winter has not comes yet, but the cold weather are feeling in early morning in the city while the winter is found full-fledged in village areas.
Doctors said that the changing weather is behind the huge sickness of the children in the city.
They said that numbers of children from one month to four-five years are taking medical treatment for last two weeks in out doors.
However, some seriously sick kids are also admitted for regular medical treatment in hospitals and clinics.
Residential Physician for pediatric out door of DMC hospital, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Majumder said, about 100 to 200 kids have come everyday to take treatment. About 70 to 80 percents of them are suffering from cold related sickness.
Some of them were also suffering from bronchitis, meningitis and encephalitis, which are called ARI-Acute Respiratory Infection in Medical Sciences.
The physician said most of the children become healed after taking primary treatment.
However, about 20 percent of them have found are suffering from bronchitis and asthma.
They have been admitted in hospitals for regular treatment.
The physician advised for parents that the minor kids should give mothers breast.
When the elderly babies should give lemon juice. All of them should wear warm dresses and to keep away from cold carefully.
