Death of Jihad: Chargesheet against 4 accused submitted

The Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, filed in connection with the death of capital’s four-year old Jihad, yesterday (Tuesday) submitted the charge sheet accusing two persons.
City’s Shahjahanpur Police Station Sub-Inspector and also the IO of the case Abu Jafar submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka. In the charge sheet proprietor of AR Traders
Md Shafiqul Islam alias Abdus Salam and Senior Sub-Assistant Engineer of Bangladesh Railway Jahangir Alam were made responsible for the death.
Child Jihad fell into the pipe of an abandoned deep tube-well at Shahjahanpur area in the capital. Both the accused were made responsible for the death as they had kept the abandoned deep tube-well pipe open. While playing there, Jihad fell into the pipe.
Slain Jihad’s father Nasir Fakir filed the case against Abdus Salam and Jahangir Alam accusing them of the negligence of duties. Jihad fell into the pipe on December 26, last year and his subconscious body was recovered from the pipe 23 hours after the incident. Later, the physicians declared him dead.
