Disseminating false info to people: CCC Mayor blames former counterpart, personalities

City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said one former mayor and some noted personalities in the port city are presenting false and fabricated information to the common people through different means over the city taxes.
 He said these noted personalities alleging the city corporation for imposing CCC run school and colleges.
City Mayor disclosed it while addressing the successful students of Firoz Shah city corporation High school in their annual prize distribution function as chief guest. In bis brief deliberations sid former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury alleging that CCC is imposing the new taxes on city dwellers and increasing school fees recently in different meetings and sittings which is totally false and fabricated.CCC Mayor said as per gazette of 1985 of CCC, these taxes are being realized and increased only 17% as per govt notifications rather any increase by CCC . The 17% includes holding tax 7%, conservancy 7% and 3% for street lighting. He further disclosed that as per gazette of January 31 last, the lighting tax increased to 5% from previous 3% but CCC authority yet to realizing the increased llighting taxes.
City Mayor further said CCC will take initiatives to assess the holdings of the former mayors, state ministers, MPs, former MPs , political personalities, officials of city corporation very shortly for reevaluation of their taxes.

Mosharraf Hossain delivered address of welcome in it.Later city mayor distributed the prizes among the talent students of the school, sources said.
