The Executive Committee of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF) was elected unopposed on Thursday with Sheikh Mohammad (SM) Jahangir Alam as the General Secretary (GS).
All of the 23 office bearers and members out of 24 of the executive committee were declared elected uncontested by the returning officer on Thursday as no rival candidates participated in the elections.
But, a vice president post out of four, fell vacant as the former general secretary of the federation and legendary table tennis star Zobera Rahman Linu withdrew her candidature on the last day.
However, the newly elected EC committee of the federation will take decision on the vacant VP post later.
Newly elected officer bearers of the federation are: Vice Presidents-Khandokar Hasan Monir (Sumon), Monira Morshed Helen and Mohammad Masudur Rahman and General Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Jahangir Alam while joint secretaries are Jahangir and KM Towhidur Rahman, Treasurer Ahsan Ahmed Amit.
The EC members are: ATM Shamsul Alam Anu, Saidul Haque Saadi, Kazi Moinuzzaman, ANM Aminul Haque Mamun, Hasan Jahir Mukul, Golam Marif Mona, Tajuddin Pappu, Golam Rabanni, Anwar Kabir Choedhury Babu, Adv Enamul Haque Salim, Chowdhury Ashiqul Hasan Shimul, Asif Ahmed, Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, Mohammad Ali, Saiful Alam and AKM Kamruzzaman.
