The returning officer of the election commission on Sunday has cancelled the candidature of three candidates in Moheshpur municipality as they had violated the election code of conducts. The decision was declared at about 12.30 pm.
The returning officer of Moheshpur municipality elections said, the EC had cancelled the candidature of independent candidate Jahangir Hossain, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) candidate Ramjan Ali and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate Nazibuddowla Naser.
There were error and irregularities during scrutiny of the candidature of the three candidates, RO said.

Returning officer and district Election Officer Azizul Islam said, their nomination papers were cancelled due to irregularities in documents they submitted.
Sirajul Islam Kukon AL Rival candidate in Khanaigat, Faruk Ahmed AL Rival Candidate Jokigonj, Gulam Kibriya Chawdhury BNP Backed Candidate, Shuhed Ahmed JAPA Backed Candidate and Aminul Islam Khalafot Mojlish nominated candidate for the Gulapgonj municipality.
BSS from Chapainawabganj adds: Nomination papers of one mayor and 19 councilor candidates and five councilors for women reserved seats were declared cancelled in four municipalities of Chapainawabganj district.
Election Office sources said, nomination papers of nine candidates in which one mayor, seven councilors and one councilor for women reserved seat of Chapainawabganj municipality, two councilor candidates two councilors for women reserved seats of Shibganj
municipality, one councilor candidate for women reserved seat in Nachole municipality and 10 councilor candidates including one women reserved seat in Rohonpur municipality were cancelled.
The cancelled mayor candidate is independent candidate and former BNP leader Shahnewaj Khan Sina.
