By-elections to M’singh-1, 3 on July 18

By-elections to Mymensingh-1 and 3 Constituencies will be held on July 18. The seats became vacant with the death of two MPs.
The Election Commission (EC) announced the detailed schedules for the Parliamentary seat-146
 (Haluaghat-Dhobaura) and 148 (Gouripur) on Thursday.
June 20 has been fixed as the last date of submitting nominations, said EC’s Assistant Secretary Rajib Ahsan.
The final day of the withdrawal of nomination is June 29. The nomination procedure is to be completed on June 22.
Former State Minister for Health Mujibur Rahman Fakir, who represented Mymensingh-3 Constituency, died of cardiac arrest on May 2. Promode Mankin, who was State Minister for Social Welfare, died on May 11.
As per the Constitution, the EC has a legal obligation to arrange the by-polls of any Parliamentary Constituency within 90 days after it falls vacant.
