Launch ticket from June 15: Bus-train advance ticket sale from today

For a hassle-free journey of holidaymakers, advance bus-train ticket sales begin from today (Monday).
 “The sales that begin in the morning will continue until the bus tickets are finished,” said Soheil Talukder, the chairman of Bangladesh Bus, Truck Owners’ Association.
He said it would be easier this year than previous years to manage the Eid rush because of a long vacation this time.
However, a major portion of tickets of some leading bus companies might be allocated for online sales to facilitate the journey of homebound people ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, said officials.
Md Shafiqe, manager of Nabil Paribahan, the leading private bus company in Rangpur division, said 40 per cent of their Eid tickets would be sold from their counter at Gabtoli in the capital and the rest online at Shohoz.com.
He said demand for tickets of June 22 (night), 23 and 25 would be much higher than other days.
The train tickets for June 21 journeys will be available on June 12 and for June 22 on June 13, for June 23 on June 14, for June 24 on June 15 and June 25 for June 16. Besides, the return tickets for the journeys of June 28 will be available on June 19 and for June 29 on June 20, for June 30 on June 21, for July 01 on June 22 and for July 2 on June 23. The ticket sales will begin at 8:00am and each passenger will be able to buy maximum four tickets.
Railways Minister M Mazibul Hoque said seven pairs of special trains will run on various routes from June 23 to June 25 before Eid and June 28 to July 3 after Eid. These trains are Dewanganj special (Dhaka-Dewanganj-Dhaka), Chandpur special-1 and Chandpur special-2 (Chittagong-Chandpur-Chittagong), Parbatipur Special (Parbatipur-Dhaka-Parbatipur) and Rajshahi Special (Rajshahi-Dhaka-Rajshahi).
Besides, two trains-Kishoreganj special-1 (Bhairab-Kishoreganj-Bhairab) and Kishoreganj special-2 (Mymensingh-Kishoreganj-Mymensingh) –will run on the Eid day for Sholakia Eid jamaat, said the minister.
Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed for preventing any sale of tickets on the black market.
Meanwhile, plying of Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Moitree train will remain suspended on June 25 and 26 due to Eid. Besides, all types of freight train excluding carrying container and fuel will also remain suspended for three days before Eid.
A total of 135 metre-gauge and 36 broad gauge coaches will be added to the total coaches. With the addition of 171 coaches, the total number of coaches will be 1,332.
Meanwhile, advance launch ticket sales for the Eid holidaymakers will start from June 15.
People can collect VIP, first and second class cabin tickets on that day, according to launch owners.
The Waterways Safety and Traffic Department took the decision in a meeting at Sadarghat launch terminal in Dhaka around 11:00am yesterday.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Chairman M Mozammel Haque was also present at the meeting.
