Passenger Buses will be strike on 18 routes in Jashore district on December 28. Transport workers announced a voluntary strike, the bus service will be closed from 6 am to 6 pm the next day.
The leaders announced the program at a rally on Tuesday afternoon to demand the lifting of the suspension of the Jashore District Transport Corporation workers’ union election.
Union President Mamunur Rashid Bachchu presided over the rally held at Manihar Chattar in Jashore town.
General Secretary of the Union Mortaza Hossain, former President Azizul Alam Mintu, President of Magura District Motor Workers Union Imdad Hossain addressed the rally.

At the meeting, the labor leaders said the new committee has been in charge of their organization for a long time through elections every three years.
In that continuity, the election day was fixed on March 20. But due to the Corona epidemic, the deputy commissioner postponed the election on March 16.
Since then, elections of various organizations have been held in the Corona situation, including multiple local government elections.
The election is not being held only in the case of this larger workers’ organization in the south-west.
As a result, the activities of the organization have become stagnant. In this situation, the election ceremony is urgent.
The leaders also said that despite repeated requests to hold elections by lifting the moratorium, the administration was not heeding them.
So the workers will go on a voluntary strike from December 28 to the next day to demand election.
