A leader of Jubo League (JL), who was shot by unidentified criminals in the capital succumbed to his injuries in a city hospital on Wednesday morning.
The victim was identified as Abdul Mannan, 32, General Secretary of Jubo League of Ward-31 in Dhaka Metropolitan Unit (South), died around 7:30am at Apollo Hospital, Dhaka, said Suvash Kumar Paul, Inspector of Wari Police Station.
“Two unidentified miscreants opened fire on him in front of his residence in the city’s Tikatuli area when he along with his friend was returning home by a rickshaw around 10:30pm on Tuesday,” he said.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and later he was shifted toApollo Hospital, Dhaka in a critical condition as he received two bullets in his head and abdomen, the police official said.
The body was handed over to the family members of the victim, he said.
A case was filed in this connection, he added.
