BSOA expresses concern over killings in commercial hub

Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, Chittagong Chapter has expressed concern over the increase of killings, bloody incidents in city areas including commercial hub Khatungonj, Chaktai, Asadgonj, and Reazuddin Bazar recently .
 In a statement of the BSOA , Chittagong on February 17 last signed by the President of Chittagong district unit Alhaj Saleh Ahmed Suleman and General Secretary Md. Sagir Ahmed expressed deep concern over there recent increase of crimes in city areas and demanded immediate arrest of the terrorists with exemplary punishment and increase of security measures specially in the commercial hubs of the city. The statement was told that on February 6 last, one youth was killed in Chaktai wholesale market with sporadic clash between the rival groups and similarly another killed in largest retail market Reazuddin Bazar on Febraury 11 last .
Besides, extortions, terrorist activities increased in these commercial areas recently, sources said.
Following the increaseof criminal offenses in these commercial hubs, the business transactions falls under negative impacts recently.
The leaders of the BSOA comprehends that present govt is a business friendly one and the govt is working relentlessly for the welfare of the business community ensuring the different advantages to the businessmen. But a vested quarters is trying to foil govt’s stand of business flourishment with ill motives, they alleged.
 They urges more security measures for the businessmen as well as in comnmnercial hubs of the city. Among others, senior vice president of the association Haji Shahabuddin, Addl. Secretary Abdul Mannan, General secretary of Khatungonj Trade & Industries Syed Sagir Ahmed , President of Reazuddin Bazar Merchants Assocn Mahbubul Alam, President of Tamakundi lane Merchant Assocn, President of Terribazar Merchants Assocn, Presdient of Khatungonj Hoarders Assoc , President of Mimi Super Market Merchant Assoc, President of New Market Merchant Welfare Assoc, President of Bangladesh Restaurant Owners Assoc and the leaders of the federating units of BSOA signed the statement, sources said.
