Two siblings have been killed in Faridpur after they were attacked by a group of men armed with sharp weapons.
The incident was reported late Thursday from the district’s Alfadanga Upazila, said police.
Boalmari Upazila resident Idris Molla, 48, and his brother Lablu, 42, were attacked around 10:30pm at Alfadanga’s Shamshan Bazar area, said Boalmari police OC Mizanur Rahman.
The victims’ other brother Md Abul Kashem Molla said they were on their way to home from their businesses at Alfadanga Bazar.
“Former Union Council member Md Kawsar Sheikh and his supporters attacked them. They hacked them with sharp weapons,” he said. The victims rushed to the Alfadanga hospital and later transferred to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries early Friday, said local Union Council chairman Md Israfil Molla. OC Rahman said additional police were deployed in the area following the incident.
