Kester Akon’s slammed brilliant hat-trick saw Brothers Union Club to post an emphatic 5-1 goal win over Uttar Baridhara Club in the 2nd phase of Nitol Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Sunday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.
Nigerian forward Kester Akon put ahead Brothers with a side volley in the 5th minute of the match. Midfielder Faisal Mahmud curved a corner and Rubel Miah’s shot deflected and reached Kester whose side volley landed into the near post (1-0).
Kester Akon, the Nigerian forward, doubled the lead with a placing shot from the box in the 27th minute (2-0).
Baridhara Forward Sujon Biswas reduced the margin two minutes later with a fierce left footed volley. Kenyan forward Collins Tiago’s header from box fell to Sujon who utilized the opportunity (2-1).
Haitian forward Augustine Walson added the third for Brothers in the 40th minute with a solo effort. Walson, who taking ball from Kester entered into the box dodging past two
defenders and beat the GK with an angular shot (3-1).
Walson scored his second and fourth for Brothers in the 45th minute. After making his way through the defence Walson hit the back of the far post with a placing shot that was hit with the outside part of his foot (4-1).
Kester completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute when he headed home on a corner of midfielder Faisal Mahmud from the right (5-1).
With the day’s feat, Brothers took their tally to 22 points from 14 matches while Uttar Baridhara remained their previous earning of 10 points from the same number of matches.
